The University of Manitoba asked us to develop innovative approaches for engaging the community on its Arctic climate change research. The medium? The VIA Rail passenger train that runs from Winnipeg to Churchill.
The Expedition Churchill: A Gateway to Arctic Research campaign was launched in late 2018, when the 1,700-km train route was re-opened. The work included a wrap for the entire exterior of the dining car, wraps for the car’s interior spaces, interactive kiosks located throughout Manitoba, and a downloadable interactive digital app that showcases the research in photo, video and infographics.
Show and Tell is a proud partner of the campaign. Other Expedition Churchill partners include VIA Rail, the Town of Churchill, the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, Assiniboine Park Zoo and Travel Manitoba. The campaign was launched in late 2018.
Between our informative app, and the in-environment application, Show and Tell helped provide travellers with an immersive, informative trip to the North – in, and on the train ride.
